| so, i'm still alive - just been hanging out on other sites like facebook and myspace lately. nothing exciting to report, but i hope all in xangaland are doing wonderfully!!! | | |
| so some news - i've given my two week notice at the L100 - if anyone is
interested in being the admin/sales/promtions assistant - send your
resume to jobs@lightning100.com - the job sorta sucks, but all the free
concert tickets make it better

| sooo, i had a call today about a job from a company that i'd really
love love love to work for. i sent over a resume last week and today
had a mini phone interview. it's a real job, with a real title that
does NOT contain any form of assistant or administrative in it - that's
music to my office slave ears. not sure anything will come of it, but
it was nice to at least be given an a little phone mini-interview. i do
love my job here at the station - but a change would be very welcomed...
new york was wonderful - but portland was better. if there weren't like
three days worth of driving b/t portland and my indiana family, i'd say
to michael let's move there right now - we could be crunchy earth
huggers and drink our organic coffee and take in any number of the most
amazing shows that happen regularly out there - we could spend days at
the ocean or the mountains and enjoy the cities many sights... but
since it is so far away i'll have to settle for visiting sweet sister
missy there as often as i can. seattle was pretty amazing too i have to
add...
the summer is flying by, but it doesn't even really feel like summer.
that's the thing that sucks about being out of college and with out
kids... seasons, holidays and other such things really don't have the
same meaning. summer no longer means - hurray for three months off to
work a silly part time job and lay by the pool, no my summers now mean:
5 days a week 9-5 spent in a giant office with no windows and the only
tan i get is from the hour or so i can hit the pool on saturdays. my
wardrobe doesn't even change as my office mates like to keep it a crisp
60 degrees in here all year round - so even yesterday when it was like
92 degrees i was at my desk wrapped in a sweater, shivering... oh well,
i'm not complaining - too much... i just wish i could have one more
summer off to lay by the pool, watch daytime tv and stay up late
hanging out with friends again - rather then rushing out of work to get
to the Y for a bit of a work out, to rush home to make dinner, to read
for a bit and get in the bed and repeat... bleck to being an adult...

| do you ever feel just sad... we are so blessed. we have so much. i
don't want to complain. but my thoughts are shifting to the future. of
having a home and a family of our own and i just don't see that
happening anytime soon. i don't want to be negative and like i said, we
are so blessed. we have a great little apartment, have plenty of food
to eat, two working cars, we both have great jobs and though we don't
make much, we have enough money to pay our bills and still take a
little trip now and then... and here i am wanting more. but it's hard
not too... i want a home, a real home, with a yard and no downstairs or
upstairs neighbors, with a real kitchen and place to do my
scrapbooking. and honestly, i want to be a mom. i know its probably
weird for someone my age to say this, but i do. and to the shock of
many of my friends, i want to stay at home. nothing would make me
happier then being a stay at home mom. and i just don't see that
happening anytime soon... again, no complaints, just wishing i guess...
i certainly do not want to take away from the many blessings we have
been given. and we will have a home, hopefully soon - gonna start
looking in the fall i hope.
anyhow - just needed to vent i guess.
